Cross Country league 2

7/10/2016

More Runners, much improvement at League 2 of the Juvenile Cross Country.

On Sunday 2nd of October the second of the league series took place in juvenile cross country at Magazine Fort in the Phoenix Park.. It was great to see so many people participate for the first time including our youngest competitor Aoife Curran in the under 10 girls who was followed by her sister Maeve and Amelia Flanagan in the under 12 girls.

Zalan Kovacs under 11 and Emily Lyne under 12  also competed again and  both had good races with more competitors [approx. 50 in each race] but still managed 18th and 16th respectively.

In the under 14 boys we had two runners; Richard Whyte who had an excellent 5th place and Barry Moylan who also performed very well.

Michael Mallin was hoping to improve on his 7th at League 1. He had to step up from 1500m to 2000m but did so with ease to finish 4th. His effort and improvement was obvious at training so was nice to see him rewarded.

Next up are the Dublin Juvenile Even Age championships which take place on Sunday 16th of October at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown at 11am. You can step up one age group to participate in this event and same is recommended as the Uneven championships are not until Sunday 6th of November. Deadline for entry is 9th of Octoberso please inform Bob Lyne by email riobard@rlynehotels.com or text at 086 2627950 if entering. Please note that a Crusaders singlet is needed to participate in championships and highly recommended in leagues. These can be purchased at training.

Please also note there is a competition also for the top performing Crusaders in this cross country series as well as valuable points for your club for finishing and also top 20 placings.
